Lovely MG B Roadster from March 1967, MK1 version, the most sought-after
It is one of the rare original French examples, sold new by the Kennings importer in the Lyon region. The import plate is still present on the engine bay.
This MG B has remained in France and has had only four owners (source Histovec).
It is a first-series model, referred to as MK1, production code GHN3.
It retains its original mechanics, the 1798 cc four-cylinder engine fed by two SU carburettors producing 94 bhp. This example is fitted with an overdrive, an option offered from 1963, and it is functional.
Aesthetically the vehicle is in good overall condition and has been preserved in line with its original specification, except for the addition of a modern radio.
The bodywork and chrome are in good condition, as is the black vinyl hood. The car retains its four original wire wheels. The four tyres are recent.
Inside, the upholstery is black faux leather with red piping, recently redone.
Mechanically, a service including engine oil change, gearbox, rear axle and braking system, replacement of the alternator, replacement of the fuel tank, fuel gauge, replacement of the clutch master and slave cylinders, and the pressure gauge. The car will have an MOT for the sale.
The chassis and floor pans are sound. They were fully rebuilt and treated by the third owner several years ago.
A successful car in its day, the MG B has become one of the most sought-after models in the classic car market. With reliable mechanicals and a pleasant sporting character, it is easy to use and affordable to maintain. A solid value...
Our example stands out for its very rare French origin and its authenticity.
The vehicle is stored in a locked garage away from humidity.
