Description
The Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1967. It takes inspiration from the 500 Superfast, but in a 2+2 configuration, in the line of the 250 GTE and 330 GT 2+2. With its elegant and imposing design, it is the first Ferrari to come as standard with power steering and air conditioning, as well as a spacious boot and two genuine rear seats. The car was equipped with the famous 4. 4-litre Colombo engine developing 320 bhp and was designed by Pininfarina. Only 801 examples were produced between 1967 and 1971.
The example we are offering for sale is a European-origin vehicle – delivered new in Geneva (CH) – equipped with power steering, air conditioning and optional Borrani wheels from factory. The car arrived in France in 2002 and remained with the same owner, a British author living in Tarn, until 2015. The Ferrari was sold at auction in 2015 and purchased by its last owner, while it was still in its original condition. As the car needed a bit of love and attention, it was decided to entrust it to the Belgian specialist Ferrari l’Officina in order to carry out a complete restoration while preserving as much as possible of the original parts. This complete restoration took almost 5 years and was fully documented by detailed invoices totalling nearly €170, 000. It is therefore no surprise that this Ferrari is in perfect condition and that it is without doubt one of the best examples on the market. The interior remains entirely original, which gives the car that particular feeling of a noble classic.
This true thoroughbred in magnificent colours is now ready for a new owner, who will be able to acquire a superbly restored Ferrari at an attractive price, as a similar restoration would probably cost more than the asking price today. It is a unique opportunity.
