Description
We are pleased to present this Jaguar Type E Coupé Series 1 factory-delivered in May 1964, equipped with the 3. 8‑litre inline six. A true symbol of 1960s British design, the Type E blends elegance, performance and clean, pure lines. This 1964 model marks the last evolution of the 3. 8 version before the arrival of the 4. 2 engine, and preserves all the most sought-after aesthetic features: small leather racing seats, front headlights under glass domes, chrome half-bumpers and aviation-inspired switches, typical of early Series 1.
A serious collector, the last owner bought this vehicle in 1975 and has kept it until today; a chapter closes after 50 years of fine and loyal service.
This example is presented today in a British Racing Green finish paired with a Bordeaux leather interior, a sober and harmonious combination that highlights the finesse of Malcolm Sayer’s design. The engine, matching numbers (block and cylinder head) fed by three horizontal SU carburettors, develops 265 bhp and offers encore-impressive performance, with a six‑cylinder Jaguar note accentuated by the stainless‑steel “Big-Bore” exhaust. The car remained with the same owner for over fifty years, evidence of meticulous maintenance and careful care. It underwent a full restoration by a Parisian specialist twelve years ago, including bodywork, upholstery and mechanicals.
Elegant, performance‑oriented and carefully maintained, this 1964 Jaguar Type E 3. 8 represents a rare opportunity to acquire a perfectly developed example of one of the most iconic coupés in automotive history.
Part-exchange possible on your collection or prestige vehicle.
