Description
Plethore Cars presents this 1979 Jaguar XJ12 Series II 5. 3L!
Exterior: Dark blue
Interior: Beige leather
Launched in the late 1960s, the Jaguar XJ quickly became the marque’s flagship saloon; its XJ12 variant received in the early 1970s the 5. 3 L V12, a symbol of silken smoothness and hushed running. Throughout the 1970s, the XJ12 epitomised British luxury: plush ride, restrained steering and Coventry’s characteristic wood and leather trim. An endearing classic, sought after for its charisma and unique driving pleasure.
This handsome 1979 XJ12 offered in a coherent overall condition.
Respray about ten years ago; visually presentable, but corrosion spots have appeared on the floor pan which will require restoration.
V12 engine in decent order, starts are straightforward, running smoothly and recent servicing carried out (oil changes/ consumables, routine checks). No abnormal behaviour noted on short journeys. As with any classic XJ, expect meticulous periodic maintenance (ignition/ fuel/ cooling) to preserve the reliability of the 5. 3.
Exterior appearance honest for its age, paint redone about ~10 years ago. Work to be carried out on the bodyshell, notably corrosion repairs on the floor and inspection of vulnerable areas (door bottoms, sills, wheel arches) before detailing or a fresh paint job, depending on the buyer’s requirements.
Interior in reasonable condition: upholstery and door cards clean, neatly presented for use. Dashboard and wood veneer in acceptable condition with a coherent overall patina.
