1965 racing Ford Mustang
Road-registered, FIA HTP certificate valid
Eligible for Masters, Peter Auto, Tour Auto, Modena Cento Ore, Monte Carlo Classic and at least a dozen other events
Undoubtedly the most versatile historic race car
At Machines with a Mission, we have a soft spot for Claude Lelouch’s film “A Man and a Woman”, which won the Oscar in 1966. So, when this white race Mustang crossed our path, we had no choice but to clothe it in the livery of the car that “Jean-Louis Duroc” drove from Monaco to Paris and Deauville the night after his victory at the Monte Carlo Rally.
Beneath the superb livery “Écurie Ford France” lies a fully fledged race car, yet road-registered, which we regard as the most versatile FIA-homologated pre-1966 competition weapon there is.
Originally, the car was born in 1966 at Ford’s Amsterdam assembly plant and was converted into a race car in the 1990s. More recently, it was completely rebuilt by Tachyon Engineering in the Netherlands and has competed in several rounds of the Dutch “Supersixties” championship as well as the 2024 Goodwood Members’ Meeting. Moreover, it is eligible for a wide variety of events and championships across Europe and beyond.
It integrates perfectly into the new Peter Auto Pre 1966 Classic Touring Challenge, The Masters Pre-66 Touring Car races, the Supersixties, the Iberian Championship, the Tour Auto, the Modena Cento Ore and many more.
