Vehicle that seems to be “coming out of the sale hall” with an interior and exterior presentation that is very clean and appears not to have suffered the effects of time.
Like any 45-year-old car it does show some points of fragility “to monitor”, the necessity of treatment depending essentially on the expected usage intensity.
For a collection use (low mileage, under 3000 KM/ year): no immediate costs anticipated for 1 to 3 years.
=> that’s my case... it is insured in a garage and only used to keep the mechanicals fresh.
For daily or weekly use (around 15, 000 km/ year and more), monitor the following:
* old tyres but with deep tread needing replacement to regain flexible rubber
* monitor wear of brake pads and discs
* monitor wear of the clutch which is original

History:
Family rural car where DIY spirit took over
=> part of the pleasures of classic car ownership is knowing and doing one’s own mechanics.
=> All maintenance up to date:
- initially carried out by professionals as long as the adhoc skills were active
- in recent years carried out by me, in full accordance with the factory documentation which I have access to elsewhere.
Origin:
Mercedes Limoges dealership, 1978.
Bought by my father second-hand in 1982 and re-registered in my name in 2006.
Regularly does short local journeys only in good weather.
This car has not seen water, mud, or snow for several years.
Hand-cleaning + spray after each trip: no pressure washer or water jet...
=> no rust.

I will be absolutely strict about spare parts, which will be sold only after the car, and "separately"!

- stock of new parts: filters, carb gaskets, Bosch spark plugs, belts, ...
- some used parts: windscreen, steel wheels, wheel trims to repaint, W123 steering box, wing mirrors, headlights, ...
