I thought I knew a lot about auto/ moto production from the last 50 years, but I was missing this Honda CX500 TURBO! I have to be honest—it reminded me of a test I did back in the winter of 1993, on a Renault 5 Turbo 2. Nothing in the bag under 3, 000 revs—catapult effect guaranteed beyond!!! If anything, it’s just that this time the 78 hp punish one single, wide 120-section rear tyre… and the sensations are completely unheard of on a two-wheeler.
The example we’re offering for sale is owned by a (retired) boss from a motorcycle preparation shop. The man has kept a taste for the nice things—or, at least, for things with a very strong personality. Plenty of work has been carried out in recent years to ensure this bike runs without nasty surprises, and to make sure it can put its power down properly.
In terms of looks, the bike presents well without being perfect. The essentials are there, however, with the same obvious logic of preserving rolling heritage.
This machine will be ready to go straight away with no mechanical expenses to plan for. A forthcoming technical inspection will confirm it’s in good working order.
