Produced between 2001 and 2006, the 500 SL R230 is one of the last great Mercedes’ with a naturally aspirated V8, combining performance, comfort and technology. Its 5. 0-litre V8, developing 306 bhp, is matched with a 5-speed automatic gearbox. Performance still feels remarkably contemporary, with 0–100 km/ h in 6. 7 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/ h.
The R230 is also distinguished by its retractable metal hardtop, allowing it to deliver both the comfort of a proper coupé and the enjoyment of a cabriolet.
Our example is presented in excellent overall condition. The bodywork, interior presentation and operation of the various equipment all reflect the care given to its maintenance over the years. The opening and closing mechanism for the roof works perfectly.
To ensure reliability and everyday driving pleasure, a major overhaul was carried out in April 2026 for nearly €6, 000. This includes, in particular, replacement of the shock absorbers, spark plugs, the alternator, the tyres, as well as all fluids and filters.
The original service booklet comes with the vehicle and allows you to track its 133, 000 km since delivery—an average of 5, 300 km per year.
