For sale: Citroën XM Ambiance 2. 0-litre injection, registered 06/ 1989

Options: Alloy wheels, air conditioning, leather interior, radio with steering-wheel controls
This XM is from 1989, i. e. the year of introduction, and in the presentation colour.
The car is in good condition and has no rust.
However, the right-hand side has some defects and it would really benefit from a respray.
The engine has the beginnings of a head-gasket leak, so it needs to be taken off for repair on a truck, but it still runs and the hydraulics work properly.
What’s been done in 2024: timing belt kit, and 4 brand-new tyres. The battery was also replaced last year. The air-flow meter (MAF) and the alternator are also new—although they’re from old stock.
I bought this car to restore it, but I don’t have the time.
I also purchased quite a few parts, including brand-new yellow front fog-light assemblies, new side lamps and headlights (the value of the whole lot when I bought it was €650), plus other parts too.
Sold as-is. The MOT will be done for the sale, but I think there will be a fail and a re-test.
No swaps.
