Morris Mini Mk1 Super Deluxe in "Island Blue", export model destined for Italy, manufactured in 1967 and first registered in Italy on 26 July 1967; it is now registered in France as a classic vehicle. Originally an 850 automatic version, the car belonged to a collection in Bologna where its engine was replaced with a Cooper 998 unit. This collection (around a dozen cars) was subsequently sold to Mini Revolution in Paris, who then sold the Mini to Humblot (in Fontcouverte), who later sold it to me. During its time in Italy, the engine and gearbox were replaced with a completely rebuilt Cooper 998 assembly, and various components were upgraded (exhaust, brakes, etc.). At Humblot, the car was inspected and serviced: oil change, filter and oil cartridge housing, cylinder head bolt torque check (12G295 model), rocker arm adjustment, thermostat (82°C) and gasket replacement, ignition timing adjustment (new spark plugs, leads, condenser and coil), HS4 carburettor overhaul (jet and gasket replacement), carburettor/ emissions tuning on CO bench, lubrication of front and rear axles, new wheels and tyres, etc. The engine is like new. The car has an FFVE certificate, original interior with a period Leston steering wheel, and a chassis and bodywork free from rust, with a superb patina protected by ceramic coating. It is parked under cover with a bespoke car cover. I have numerous photographs (before, during and after the work at Humblot) as well as copies of the original registration documents. I have added "Café Racer" style decorations which can be easily removed. It offers all the driving pleasure of a Cooper 998 for a fraction of the price of an equivalent model. It is a genuine joy to drive that invariably brings a smile to your face. It is unlikely you will find another in such excellent original condition whilst benefiting from the power and sound of the 998 engine.
