Description
Collectors and investors should keep the following in mind: Regarding Shelby Cobra replicas, the compliance of the French registration document with what the vehicle actually is (manufacturer, year, model, engine) is paramount to secure your purchase. French legislation (FFVE) is very strict regarding replicas: a replica to be eligible for a French collection registration document must be over 30 years old (manufacturing date), must no longer be in production, and must be in its original condition. By applying this rule imposed since 2014 by the French government and the FFVE, very few replicas are admissible in France. A discerning buyer should therefore question the genuine legality of Cobras with registration documents dated 1965 or 1966... 67 (unless this Cobra costs £2 million and is therefore a genuine original Shelby Cobra). The same applies if a Cobra from a modern replica manufacturer that began production in 1995 or 2000 is being sold with a registration document dated 1974, 1982 or 1986... these modern Cobra replicas should be avoided as their registration documents are fraudulent. Generally speaking, Cobra replicas with standard registration documents should be avoided because 99% of the time a replica has no European or French certificate of conformity (except fakes)... and therefore must undergo an Isolated Type Approval (RTI) with the French mines authority (UTAC & DREAL)... but they do not issue these. This is why it is almost certain that a Cobra with a standard registration document has fraudulent bogus paperwork. Note that the French government recently launched an anti-fraud campaign against bogus registration documents. Registration cancellations and heavy penalties are currently being handed down. Absolutely read our section "Press Coverage" (top right) on our website bourgogne-auto-classic. fr and you will understand the extent of the fraud. Bourgogne Auto Classic is the French leader in Cobras as we exclusively sell and homologate Shelby replicas (Cobra and GT40) with collection registration documents. The Cobra we are offering here on consignment already has its collection registration document as it is already registered as a collection vehicle (crystal clear registration document) for one of our clients who doesn't have enough time to drive his multiple cars. This Cobra is in pristine condition as it was recently repainted in the most iconic colour possible for a Cobra: the Ford Shelby Guardsman Blue from the 1960s. Its fierce and feisty engine of nearly 500bhp is a mild small block Ford Windsor stroker of 6. 7 litres (408ci). This car features other refinements such as a 5-speed gearbox, Flex Fuel injection, power-assisted brakes, aluminium cylinder heads and a new tonneau cover.
