It left the factory in standard US specification. The Ersatz-Exemplar issued by Porsche at Ludwigsburg.
The engine number P31883 on the factory certificate is the one the restorer recorded on the car in 2014, which he noted by hand on his workshop records.
It has been repainted red. Its factory colour is Ivory R504.
It holds an FIA historical technical passport, issued by the ACCUS under USA form 5821. Competition GT Car, period E from 1946 to 1961, class GTS 1. The passport certifies that the bodywork is original to this chassis, that the engine conforms to period specifications, and that the rear suspension does likewise: swing axle, torsion bars, telescopic dampers. It is therefore eligible for FIA-homologated historic events, including Tour Auto and Le Mans Classic.
Its history is fully documented. Delivered new to the United States, it carries a Certificate of Title from the State of California.
