Charming TRIUMPH TR3 1957, small mouth, very vintage, genuine four-wheeled motorcycle.
Engine 2138cc, torquey, in excellent health with perfect compressions (11. 7 identical on each cylinder). Fuelled by two SU H6 carburettors equipped with trumpets with filters.
Very effective cooling, even in scorching heat: aluminium radiator with electric fan, automatic control (thermostat) and manual via switch with warning light on dashboard.
Electrical system: everything works. An alternator replaces the old dynamo, negative to earth (European setup) and new battery. Starts at a quarter turn.
Transmission in good condition: gearbox with synchromesh first gear, OVD on third and fourth with on/ off control on gear lever and warning light on dashboard.
Stainless steel sports exhaust (51mm diameter), pleasant note.
Braking greatly improved by fitting a servo brake and soft EBC pads and new discs.
Front suspension rebuilt (springs and dampers) and rear telescopic dampers (removal of lever-arm dampers, outdated).
Superb chassis in top condition and floors not corroded.
Options: chrome-spoked wheels and nearly new tyres, beautiful vintage Motolita wood steering wheel, four-spoke aluminium. Speedometer in km/ h. Period-correct map reader. New tripod headlights and period long-range lights. Original horn and another 'vintage jalopy' type.
New carpeting. Supplied of course with hood, hood cover, tonneau cover, side windows, deflectors, and jack. Rare two-tone colour.
