Description
For sale: Citroën Traction Avant 11 BL, known as the ‘11 légère’, dated 6 January 1955.
MOT carried out in February 2023 – passed; collector’s registration document in my name; engine and chassis numbers match; Peugeot-Citroën DS ‘Aventure’ certificate.
The car is in its original condition; it is fitted with a 6-volt system and transistorised ignition, but this can be reversed. Non-smoker; stored in a dry garage. LED lighting, but this can be reversed.
The previous owner kept it in running order for 35 years.
It starts and runs very well. I take it on trips of up to 200 km.
Aesthetically, it’s in its original condition but looks very good, with sound bodywork.
As for the restoration, I have replaced all the door, boot and exterior hatch seals with new ones (there are a few minor bodywork flaws that are fairly easy to touch up)
The entire underbody, front sills and door interiors have been treated preventatively with Rustol anti-rust treatment.
Regularly serviced; all fluids – engine oil, gearbox oil, coolant – replaced, and brakes bled in 2023.
Mechanics in excellent condition: valve clearance, ignition timing adjusted; clutch, driveshaft and radiator all in good working order; rear silencer already replaced; brakes re-done. Oil pressure gauge and engine temperature gauge fitted.
Fuel tank in excellent condition, additional fuel filter.
Tyres in very good condition (manufactured in 2018), spare wheel in good condition with a new inner tube.
