Model history: Faithful to a long tradition of quality and comfort at MERCEDES, the 250 SE/ C adopts the 'Heckflosse' bodylines originating from the 1959 180, while introducing a new, more powerful six-cylinder inline engine with an aluminium cylinder head. It was the last MERCEDES built largely by hand. Available as a saloon, coupé and cabriolet, the 250 SE/ C improves interior space. Its bodywork, revised by Paul BRACQ, offers a smoother rear end without the fins of the soon-to-be-outdated saloon. The six-cylinder engine received BOSCH injection derived from that of the legendary 300 SL 'Gullwing', giving the 250 SE/ C comfort and smooth driving. Bodywork / Exterior: The car shown here is a Mercedes 250 SE/ C (W111) from March 1967 in its original 'Weissgrau - 158' colour (matching colours). The bodywork was restored a few years ago and was then fully repainted. The overall presentation is very good, with an even tone and excellent gloss. Following a professional orbital polish carried out by our workshop, we noted a few surface defects: a small scratch on the top of the front left wing and a paint chip, since corrected, on the rear right wing edge. The chrome bumpers are perfectly aligned and in very good condition despite a knock on the passenger-side front bumper and a few minor surface marks on the rear bumper. The original chrome grille is in excellent condition, as is the chrome mirror. The decorative chrome trim is complete and in good condition. The 4 chrome wing trim pieces are in good condition, except for the rear right one, which shows a rub mark. The lights and lenses are in very good condition. We noted a scratch on the passenger-side windscreen. The 4 original 14-inch steel wheels are in very good condition, with no signs of impact or distortion. They are fitted with their 4 original chrome hubcaps, in good condition. Our workshop will replace the 2 front tyres before delivery. The rear MICHELIN MXW tyres show 20% wear. This car has retained its original spare wheel and jack.
