Description
I am looking to sell my 1974 Fiat X1/ 9 1300 in red, fitted with its four-speed gearbox.
French-supplied car, bought in 2025 and currently on a French collector's registration (carte grise collection).
The car runs and drives under its own power, but still needs some mechanical work to be fully roadworthy.
History and maintenance
The car comes with a number of invoices, plus a document confirming an inspection carried out in 2022 by the previous owner.
Work carried out:
* Cylinder head rebuilt in 2025
* Timing belt renewed in 2025
* 2nd and 3rd gear synchros rebuilt in 2025
* Clutch in very good condition
* Track rod ends replaced in 2026
* Two front wheel bearings replaced in 2026
According to the vehicle history available on Histovec, the current mileage is estimated at 122, 000 km, shown on a five-digit odometer.
The chassis is generally sound.
Work to be done
Gearbox:
* Slight oil leak.
* It is not losing much oil.
* Sealing between the casings needs attention.
Front suspension:
* Front right hub to be straightened or replaced, with a slight wobble present.
Fuel tank:
* Needs internal rust treatment and resin coating.
* Shows a slight leak when filled beyond three-quarters.
Corrosion:
* Surface corrosion present around the front right wheel arch and the steering rack mounting area.
* These areas have been treated with rust-stop product but need redoing as soon as possible.
Bodywork and paint
The car is currently red, but the red paint is not original: it was originally Pistachio Green.
The current paint is in fair condition and tends to look a little dull.
The exterior seals are no longer very watertight, so the car is not happy in the rain.
The car is always kept garaged.
Parts and equipment
The car was fitted with long-range driving lamps.
The following are present to allow them to be refitted:
* Switch
* Wiring loom
The long-range driving lamps themselves are not included.
Also included:
* A second set of steel wheels
* Several spare parts
* The original steering wheel
Location
The vehicle is located in Morteau, in the Doubs.
I am selling the car due to several changes in my personal life. Unfortunately, I can no longer afford to keep it and restore it as I had planned.
So I am parting with it reluctantly.
