Description
Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I (BT7), 1960. Finished in 'Ice Blue Metallic' with a blue leather interior and blue carpeting. The car is fitted with a blue mohair hood, a blue mohair tonneau cover and a hard top painted in body colour. This Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I was imported into the Netherlands in 1996. This 'matching numbers' example underwent a thorough restoration, overhaul and upgrades around 25 years ago. In 2014, Classic Open sold this magnificent Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I to its current owner, who has been enjoying it to the full ever since. The service history has been fully documented since then. The car is in very good condition and runs beautifully. During the restoration and overhaul it was given a rally-inspired look, with the front and rear bumpers removed, chrome rear bumper overriders added and imposing Lucas SLR700 'Flamethrower' long-range driving lamps fitted at the front. The ride height has also been raised slightly at the rear for improved ground clearance and greater driving comfort. The big six-cylinder engine has been fitted with two larger SU carburettors from the Mk III, raising output to 150 bhp. The original wire wheels have been replaced with robust Minilite-style alloy wheels, complete with stylish chrome centre-lock nuts. The Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I was one of the most impressive factory rally cars of the 1960s, and all examples were fitted with a hard top. This fantastic 'Big Healey' is built for the pure joy of driving, ideal for enthusiasts seeking the authentic experience of a classic British roadster.
