Description
Jaguar Type C Hawk replica prepared by Arhes VRC
Motors Corner is delighted to present this Jaguar Type C replica, built some five years ago by Arhes VRC, the company of its current owner. This is not a series-built kit but a bespoke build: the ladder chassis was made specifically using the dimensions of the XK120 C and clothed in a Hawk body, the benchmark in Type C replicas.
The car is registered on a French registration document (carte grise) bearing the Hawk mention, first registered 01/ 1959, and fully homologated. Built to be driven but very little used since completion, it shows just four hours on the GPS clock.
Mechanicals:
The 4-litre Jaguar straight-six from the XJ6 wears a Type C cylinder head and is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive and an XJ6 rear axle. The manifolds and exhaust system were made bespoke in stainless steel. Everything has been fitted with new parts: aluminium fuel tank, radiator, clutch and flywheel, four dampers, disc brakes with calipers, and aircraft-spec hoses throughout all circuits. The build is particularly well finished, with a fully treated tubular chassis and an engine assembled to the highest standards.
Interior:
The cabin keeps the stripped-out spirit of the 1950s endurance Jaguars, with its carbon bucket seats in good condition, a turned aluminium dashboard housing the full instrument array, and a three-spoke wooden steering wheel with an aluminium hub.
Exterior:
The Hawk body, finished in British racing green, faithfully captures the Type C silhouette, with its one-piece bonnet, oval grille, side air intakes and wire wheels with centre-lock hubs. The side exhaust outlets accentuate the lines.
