Description
This Triumph TR6 is reputed to have been bought new by an Englishman in the United States in 1972, then imported into France. It was later acquired in 2001 by an enthusiast in Alsace, who carried out a complete body-off restoration.
The entire mechanical package has been fully rebuilt: engine, gearbox (with the addition of a Type J overdrive), rear axle, brakes, suspension and running gear. A substantial file of invoices documents this work.
The car has been regularly maintained by a professional and lives in a garage all year round, never venturing out in the rain.
Additional work carried out in 2020:
- Rocker covers
- Battery isolator fitted
- 4 Michelin XVS 185R15 tyres
Pre-sale preparation, June 2020:
- Clutch replaced June 2020
- Gearbox removed and inspected
- Oil changes to engine, gearbox (plus OD) and rear axle
- Full greasing points attended to
- Brake system bled
- Full engine tune (ignition and carburettors)
PROVEN RELIABILITY
The previous owner made long journeys from the Toulouse area to the Périgord, the Cévennes, and the French and Spanish Pyrenees, without a single breakdown.
I acquired the car in 2022 and am parting with it with some regret for another project. The vehicle has never broken down during my ownership.
