The Appeal
The original Rover 200 was a really clever idea: a good-quality, reliable car that shrunk the luxury feel of the firm’s executive saloons into a nimble BMW 3-Series rival. It proved a success, embraced by those who valued something a little more sumptuous than the spartan German alternatives.
Survivors, though, are very rare, particularly ones as good as this 1986 car. It is a 213, equipped with the well-regarded 1,342cc EV2 Honda engine and in plus ‘SE’ trim. That means deep velour seats and walnut trim. This car also benefits from some Vitesse features such as the front and rear spoilers and lattice-style alloys.
It is in very good condition throughout and displayed a low mileage of under 80,000 kms, as shown within the MOT history. There is also a certificate from Museo Do Caramilo confirming provenance.
