The Appeal
This beautiful restored 500L contains a useful secret. Beneath the snail-like rear deck is a fully rebuilt 650cc engine. There’s also a fully synchromesh gearbox. It’s a combination that makes this classic 500 considerably more usable in modern driving than the factory-standard version.
The mechanical overhaul is so fresh that the car still needs properly running in. We’re told that this three-keeper car was restored three years ago. It has reportedly been garaged since completion. It certainly presents very nicely in the classic combination of Bianco over Nero.
The joy of this well-presented 500L is that it looks standard, but goes much better than a factory car. This is one for enthusiasts who want to use and enjoy their ‘cinquecento.’
