The Appeal
The fifth generation ‘Stang is widely regarded as a return to form, helped by some tasty aesthetics that neatly update the original profile. The icing on the cake was the arrival of the potent Ford SVT-fettled Shelby GT500, so named for its 500bhp, all channelled through the rear wheels.
This 2008 car stands out for its remarkably low mileage and careful preservation. Purchased new by the current keeper in 2008 from a licensed dealership in Bucharest, it has been maintained primarily as a collector's piece, used sparingly for exhibitions and carefully stored under a protective cover. With two oil changes in its lifetime and minimal road use, this GT500 offers the rare opportunity to own an essentially new, factory-standard example of this modern muscle car icon. The Shelby is a total monster. Experienced drivers should drive it only, as in the hands of novices it could be quite dangerous. It's rough power, you can feel the 500hp under you, and I would describe it as a rocket. It can't be compared with newer cars that have tons of electrical whatnots. The Shelby is sexy, tough and will go up in value over time since it's the last Mustang that Carroll Shelby inspected himself.
