Among the Japanese sport models, without any question, there’s the Skyline GTR produced by Nissan—intended to be the flagship, yet also extremely sporty. First built in the 1950s, the model is now on its 12th generation (!) and each time it’s a joy for purists.
The model we have here is the R32, already the 8th generation… Produced from 1989 to 1994, it was offered in both 2- and 4-door versions. Obviously, the 2-door cars are the more sought-after today.
The R32 is an all-wheel-drive car, fitted with a 2. 6L six-cylinder bi-turbo producing 280bhp. In such a light car, the fun is absolute!
Even better, the one we’re selling is one of the very rare N1s— the real thing, authentic (listed as 214667), limited to just 118 examples. All are white, right-hand drive. It was created for N1 racing homologation in Japan. This N1 was made to provide an ideal base for Japanese competition. It’s been lightened—no ABS, no air conditioning, no radio, no rear wiper, and no boot carpeting. The engine is also strengthened—so it’s a better power-to-weight ratio… a near-track weapon, but still road-homologated!
Of the 29 races in its category championship, it won all 29.
NYC’s is offering for sale this very fine white Nissan Skyline R32 GTR N1, with a grey-and-blue fabric interior, currently showing 129, 500 km.
Supplied new in Japan in November 1991, it became UK-registered in the 2010s before arriving in Belgium in September 2018, at which point it had 126, 529 km on the clock. It spent time in an important car collection, lovingly cared for by its owner, who covered a total of just 3, 000 km.
The bodywork presents very well, though it isn’t perfect. There are a couple of paint defects to note: on the front end (a small sliver/ flange mark) and on the rear spoiler—but nothing major (just very minor details): no dents, no scratches.
The interior is very smart. You’ll notice only very slight overall wear from its age and mileage. This applies to the leather on the gear knob and handbrake, the steering wheel, and the mats. For the rest—whether the seats, dashboard, door cards, or headlining—everything is in very good condition.
As for the mechanical side, we have a good maintenance record: the Japanese service book and invoices from the time it was in the UK. Since it’s been Belgian-registered, we don’t have invoices, but that’s explained by the fact that its current owner has such a collection that he has his own mechanic to look after all the cars. In other words, everything has been done and it’s up to date and ready to drive without any concerns. We can confirm it starts and drives superbly. An incredible car, with an impressive soundtrack—really, a proper machine…
