Description

I purchased the old girl a few years ago. I am told she had been owned by a professor and had been laid up in a garage since the early 1970's. The body was very sound but the nearside sill was a little suspect so I set about replacing it. Having made the inner wings sound, I never got around to completing welding on the outer sill. The new sill is included.
I fitted a brand new stainless Steele exhaust, all brake hubs have been machined, and fitted with new brake cylinders and shoes and the brake pipes renewed (one needs fitting but is included). New bushes in the dynamo, windscreen wipers, new points, plugs, oil. The trafficators were repaired (it is a great feature that the bodywork has not been butchered for modern indicators). The seats and door panel were professionally restored. The clutch/ brake master cylinder has been fitted with new seals. I could not get the clutch to work when I last tried and i'm not sure if it is seized or just requires adjustment.
The wood dash and door cappings are all complete. I have removed part of the dash to access an old mouse nest behind the heater matrix. The paint is cracked. I set about removing it on the boot a couple of years ago. It appears to have had one respray (prior to the 70s) and am told it may be shallac, which scrapes off with a wall paper scraper. I'm sure there is more I've done.
3 of the tyre (crossplys) look new but have cracked on the wall, but all still hold air. Engine is the original XPAW (just like the XPAG) which are worth a fortune. It was running spot on when I last tried her but this was over 12 months ago. She has always been inside a proper garage throughout.
Other commitments have stopped me from finishing restoring her. Whilst reluctant to sell, I come to the conclusion that I will never finish the restoration, but would consider paying to have her restored but cannot seem to find the right person.
The very valuable number DEB is unfortunately non-transferable although it is its original number. I am told that when the the DVLA went computerised the then vehicle's owner never updated its registration, so the DVLA put a marker on the V5c.
