VW/ Porsche 356 Speedster First reg Germany 1957
Vin 1506755 1915cc
With more “barn finds” & classic car restoration projects VW, Audi & Porsche have opened Heritage departments selling brand new ‘old’ parts opening up opportunities for projects like our VW/ Porsche 356 Speedster we have for sale. The original VW chassis was first registered on the 12th April 1957 in Oldenburg Northern Germany and built from the ground up using Heritage parts & painted in Black Schwarz Porsche code 041 on a lightweight composite body. Utilising a brand new ‘Type 1’ 1915cc crate engine of 105bhp that provides the most perfected acoustic Porsche flat four sound and a new 4 speed gearbox this build is as outstanding in its craftsmanship as much as its pure beauty.
Just opening and closing the doors you immediately feel and sense the quality of this build. This car has also had the added bonus of a few very useful updates that include heated seats and interior heater/ blower to keep the chilly evenings at bay so you can enjoy the Speedsters roof down for longer. A classic looking radio is fitted but also has AUX and USB points to allow the charging of a phone/ navigation and listening to your chosen play list. A set of brake discs are fitted to the front axle which certainly have no issues stopping this car weighing under 750kgs rather than the older style drum brakes that were originally installed back in 1950s.
The new tyres are in keeping with the heritage as Pirelli have fitted there distinctive Cinturato original tread design but using a compound more comparable with today’s sports cars so the comfort, steering and reduced road noise is a great addition to the speedsters overall enjoyment. The black roof is a simple few clicks away from being lowered and a perfectly fitting tonneau cover clips over to give the speedster its classic look with the side windows lifting off the doors and storing inside the large front luggage compartment. There is also a further storage area between the rear seat and engine compartment closure.
This car has just been delivered to the UK from the 2018 Monaco F1 GP weekend where it was displayed outside the Fairmount Hotel located on the famous Hairpin bend and used for press shoots along the French Rivera and Eden Roc Hotel. It has covered a mere running in 600 miles since its 5 months build completion in May 2018.
A small deposit secures this car and the buyer will become the first UK name on the logbook. This car has had only 6 owners in Germany in 61 years with the original Kraftfahrzeugbrief (logbook) present.!!
So you have the looks of a 1950s classic with the luxuries and reliability of 2018 built car.
