Monte the MkVIIM is well known around the Sydney club movement and is a regular at displays and club events. Often seen at the larger All British display days at Canberra, Sydney and Newcastle. Known as Monte, in tribute to the 1956 Monte Carlo winning factory entrant, driven by Ronny Adams. This car came off the production line around the same time, and is the same color and basic configuration as the race car. This car is fitted with a straight port head and twin HD8 SU carburetors to replicate the original rally/ race car.
The Monte Carlo Car was UK registered PWK 700. For a time, our car carried the same NSW Registration number. Now on historic registration, our PWK 700 number was transferred to our Land Rover, and is available if required subject to negotiation.
Monte the MkVIIM has never been restored, but maintained to a high preservation standard. He was repainted in the mid 90’s to the correct original British Racing Green with other items refurbished from time to time. Having being used on a regular basis for club events, he does have some minor chips and blemishes. All this adds to a well-loved and well looked after car, with a charming patina. Ready to drive away and enjoy.
Everything in working order and includes original tool kit and genuine original owner’s handbooks. As with all vehicles of this age there are items that wear and need attention.
