Thank you for viewing my very original MGB GT V8, a chrome bumper model with 125k miles on the clock.
The car had a body restoration before my ownership, I believe approx. 8 years ago. There is no body or chassis rust and she is rock solid underneath. If I'm being picky, the bonnet is showing slight signs of rust along the front and near side (along the double skin section) but it doesn't show unless the bonnet is open and you're looking for it.
Earlier this year the engine and gearbox were removed to facilitate the fitting of a new clutch, and whilst removed the engine bay was resprayed and tidied up, along with new electronic ignition and radiator. An upgraded heater was also installed and the wiring cleaned and replaced where necessary.
Whilst the engine was out it was inspected, and found to be in need some work so I commissioned a full rebuild by Scholar Engineering, a renowned local specialist (- details above). The engine has had no modifications, simply rebuilt to standard spec, which I believe complements the car perfectly. She has only completed a couple of hundred miles since the rebuild so still running in. The gearbox also has a fully functioning overdrive unit for 3rd and 4th gear and engages as it should.
The interior has been replaced at some point in it's life, from autumn leaf to black, and I recently refurbished the drivers seat. The car also comes with a modern DAB radio and luxury speakers built into the rear seat squab.
Whilst the original V8 wheels are not in brand new condition, they are perfectly adequate for the age of the car and polish up nicely.
It flew through the last MOT in June 2018 (no advisories) and requires no money spending on it, certain not in the foreseeable future.
She is a factory standard, extremely usable car with no modifications, except for the electronic ignition and a stainless steel exhaust.
