Beschreibung
This car was taken off the road in February 1984 for restoration work and was in bits in dry storage for over 35 years. Since I bought the car, I have carried out a nut and bolt rebuild to a high standard.
At a recent MG Shropshire Owners Club not only did the car win best in class it also won best in show against some stiff competition.
The fuel system (tank, pipes, pump) is completely new. The brake system (cylinders, pipes, discs, pads) is completely new. The front and rear suspension has been completely overhauled with new or reconditioned parts.
A new gold seal engine was fitted on 05/ 05/ 82 with the mileage at 85578 (a copy of this receipt is available) thus this engine has only done 10, 000 miles. I have completely overhauled it with new rings, oil pump, big end, main bearings, shells, timing chain and all new oil seals. This engine now has an unleaded head.
New wings have been fitted front and rear along with new sills, inner and outer and castle rails, two new door skins and a new windscreen.
After cleaning off the old underseal, the floor and chassis rails were in immaculate condition showing the original undercoat from the factory. There was no rust present whatsoever. The floor and chassis rails were re-undercoated, stone chipped and colour coded to the rest of the car.
This car has electronic ignition, a thermostatically controlled cooling fan, a twin 12v battery system and has no problems starting. The seats have been reupholstered and new carpets etc have been fitted all matching the original colour, as shown by the car’s Heritage Certificate. The car has been converted from rosstyle to wire wheels with brand new Falcon tyres all round including spare.
A sports exhaust has been fitted and sounds fabulous.
The insurance valuation on this car is £15, 000.
