YAMAHA XS 850 – First registered 1980, registration JKY 75W
The bike has done 37, 960 miles and has just had its MOT (09/ 08/ 2019).
Last serviced in March 2019.
Avon Road Rider tyres fitted - 13/ 04/ 2017.
Starter motor rebuild and overhaul - 09/ 2019.
The Yamaha XS850 is a beautiful, classic Yamaha triple that I have owned since mid 2017 and it has been kept garaged and only ridden in fair weather since. I purchased the bike off my godfather where it was also garaged and well looked after, as all previous six owners have clearly done.
The bike is in fantastic condition with the bodywork; engine casings and chrome work all in excellent, clean shape. There is some minor pitting on the brake fluid reservoir, and some small rust spots that are difficult to see easily on the inside of the rear springs.
Mechanically the bike is strong and a joy to ride. I have had the starter motor overhauled, a new battery fitted and had the carbs balanced and cleaned to ensure it is running beautifully. The bike starts and runs smoothly but it is nearly 40 years old so requires a little of time to warm up in cold weather.
It is a lovely bike to ride despite its weight and has a beautiful sound courtesy of the triple cylinder engine. I have no time to ride it as it is garaged nearly ten miles from my house and so needs to be owned by somebody who has the time to love it!
As previously mentioned, the bike is garaged 10 miles from my house so I will need notice for viewings.
