History of this car.
Built in Fords San Jose plant in California. It was first purchased in Los Angeles in June 1967 , by a Gentleman who lived in San Diego. He looked after the car for the first 17 years of its life then sold in 1984 to Mr Breecher who brought the car back to Phoenix Arizona. We purchased it from him after he had owned it for 32 years. So the car has had only 2 private owners in 49 years in the USA.
Our Restoration.
After purchasing the Mustang we had one thought which was to restore it to its former glory. The vehicle had no rust issues and had never been welded, although the paint was a little flat. We undertook a bare metal respray, (photographic evidence available). Once back to bare metal No Rust was found. Candy apple red was its original colour so it had to be painted in that colour! All brightwork has been hand polished or renewed.
New window rubbers were fitted. The last owner had the engine overhauled less than 1500 miles ago. Receipts to prove. Four barrel Edelbrock carburettor is fitted. The gearbox is a four-speed with a Hurst shifter. Fitted with 3? hooker long tube headers with a 3? big bore dual flow master exhaust, sounds magnificent! New shocks absorbers and springs all round. All electrics have been checked or renewed MSD electronic ignition fitted. New American racing wheels with tyres fitted.
The interior has had new carpets, seat upholstery, and new headlining and various chrome parts all done to its original colour. Many new parts have been purchased and fitted throughout the car. It also features GT bonnet, front lamps and centre console. This mustang has an extensive file full of its history throughout the years also has original handbook from supplying dealer. This Mustang not only looks outstanding but also sounds magnificent with its V8 ” burble”! This Mustang is not concourse but is a usable show winning car. The car comes with full UK registration documentation.
