Description

A 5th generation 1989 T180 series Celica ST185 turbocharged all-wheel drive version with the legendary 3S-GTE Engine

This has been in a private collection for a number of years with little recent use. It has been well looked after and a huge sum of money has been spent on it

The car was subject to ongoing modification over a number of years, and includes:

Toad Alarm/ Immobiliser with 2 x Remotes

The engine was rebuilt a number of years ago by a GT-4 specialist tuning company, GT4 Developments - I have been in touch with the original owner of this company, who tells me that costs were way in excess of £20, 000 and include:
HKS Cams,
Garrett Turbo
Blueprinted Cylinder Head & Ports
Titanium Valve Caps and Colletts
Titanium Conrods
Special £500 Sump from USA
Specialist Crank
Specialist Balanced Bearings
Custom Race Wiring Loom
Motek M4 Pro Custom ECU
The clutch was upgraded to a 4 x paddle Race Clutch and it has been balanced to the Crank as one assembly

He informed me that the car has been mapped to run a safe 500 BHP (tuned down from 600 BHP for reliability) It was also constructed for use with Nitrous injection

I have no way of verifying the internal components & cost listed above or the claimed power output - and the car is sold on that understanding, however the owner of GT4 Developments has stated he is happy to talk to the new purchaser of the car regarding the modifications, cost and the mapping carried out

I have just had the oil (racing spec.) and oil filter changed along with a weeping core plug at a cost of £350 - to bring the car back to its full glory I would recommend a re-map and a cam belt change to be on the safe side - doing a little work on the car could increase it value considerably

The paintwork is in fabulous condition (pictures shows water droplets -not blemishes!) with virtually no marks and being a Japanese Import the underside is extremely solid with just some surface rust that would benefit from being treated and painted - I have left it alone rather than paint it which could be seen as an attempt to hide structural rust

Supplied with a history file including many invoices, tuning product catalogues, 10 old MOTs, V5 and current MOT until June 2020 showing a couple of advisories most of which have been sorted (bar the one about a noisy exhaust – that’s what this car is all about!)
