Hi all, i'm selling my cherished xjr as we are immigrating to the states for 3 years and emissions law in california mean its not possible to import.
i have had the car for nearly 4 years and until 3 weeks ago my intent was to keep it forever. This, the m5 and the e55 are all favourites of mine.
the 1st owner [ceo] had the car registered as a company car before swapping it to personal ownership.
i bought the car from a chap in wales with 102k on the clock and he had the car for a short amount of time- possibly due to the underfloor welding at the bottom of the a pillar that i had sorted out and undersealed.
in addition to the welding in my ownership i have focused on getting all the mechanicals running as new; I used the james rawlinson [jaguar specialist, surrey] to give the car a complete look over and create a report and we have worked our way through that report over the last 18 months to get the car tip top. This involved rear axle removal and reconditioning, new bearings, sensors, brake calipers and brake pipes. Work totally over £2500.
as a result the car runs like dream, it is my daily driver and the best car i have ever owned.
if i was staying in the uk my plan was to bring the paintwork back to factory as it would be described as b+ atm and my father drove his lawn mower into it, scratching the front bumper. I would fix the fix the stereo as it sound like an amp has blown but i havent got round to that yet, and some of the wooden trim is a little faded.
if i cant get v close to the asking price then i'm going to store the car as this is an appreciating classic and probably the last 'fast, low, beautiful car' that jag made.
