This is Tony our 53 year old VW camper, up for sale, the kids have grown up and we have got older, so its time for someone else to take over and enjoy him.
He is a 1967 VW T2. Born in Germany of course, but taken over to New Jersey in the US by his GI owner, which is where he lived as a microbus until around 2005 when he was imported back to the UK. His previous owners then had his innards professionally converted to a camper at Camper shak. Just before he was imported the US owners had a complete floor, which as you can see is still completely solid.
In 2008 we saw an advert and were fortunate enough to be the first people to visit and of course immediately fell in love and bought him.
What have we done with him since?
In 2011 his engine packed up, so we had a brand new one, which has done less than 20K since then. It’s a 1641 with webber twin carb.
In 2012, we had the rear end rebuilt and a respray.
He has since our ownership been looked after by Volkswerk in Taunton. We had him serviced and checked frequently. Always new hoses each year. We have all receipts so you can see what we have done with him.
The inside of the van has a two person rock n roll bed, overhead and side cupboards, Cooker and sink and space for a small fridge.
Seating and lap seat belts for two plus a small drop down seat.
Front seat can sit three, lap seat belts for 2 and a really nice Banjo steering wheel

Whats wrong with him.
1. He is a 53 year old classic van and has been used by a family for the last 12 years as VW aficionados we spent endless summers touring around Cornwall and Devon, camping and attending VW shows.
2. So he is not a concours van, he is for using
3. There are a few areas of light surface rusting, all are highlighted in pictures
4. There is wear and tear to the inside. But it all works.
So to be honest, the best thing to do is to look at him. He is a wonderful van and we have him up for a fair price.
