We are delighted to present for sale this soft-top Series 2, presented in Deep Bronze Green with Green Canvas and wheels. This is one of two vehicles we purchased from a Series Land Rover® enthusiast, who took great pride in his vehicles – and only sold due to needing a more modern Land Rover® for work purposes.
Externally, as the photos show, this military-style Series 2 stands very well and sports some interesting features – such as the bonnet mounted spare, wing-mounted mirrors, front lifting eyes, rear mudflaps, vintage numberplates rear grabhandles and vintage stickers. 750 tyres are fitted to give a strong stance and additional gearing. The canvas is also a recent item, as the photos show, and completes the look well. There is a height-adjustable towbar with electrics, which is handy for those times towing is required!
The interior houses three front deluxe seats, with the outer seats being of the defender highback style. Deluxe matting is fitted to the footwells. There is a square heater under the dash, with front demist, which is handy for those winter mornings. The original ‘twist’ Series 2 vents survive, which is great to see too. There is a 12v socket fitted, handy for charging mobiles and sat nav systems. The rear is unfitted, with the exception of a load mat to the floor – rear benches could be fitted for £295, to increase seating to seven occupants including the driver.
Out on the road, this old girl drives just as it should and delivers a pleasing period driving experience, aided by the larger rubber. It is nice to note that is starts with minimal glow to the diesel engine, and it does not smoke like some at this age.
In summary, if you are looking for a well priced soft-top 2a, then this could be for you. With MOT & Tax Exemption, along with classic insurance, it should prove to be cost-effective to own and run, whilst also being a solid investment for the future.
