1981 Ford Cortina XR6, assembled by the Ford Neave Plant in Port Elizabeth, SA.
The Cortina XR6 was a unique model to South Africa and was built from 1980 to 1983.
Engine is 2994 cm3 Essex V6 with 4spd manual floor shift. Weber 38/ 38 Carburettor. Odometer reading is 94330 km.
The XR6 included OEM front and rear spoilers in matt black. An aftermarket period correct Perana branded rear window louvre was fitted by the owner when new.
Wheel rims are non original period correct alloys. A matching spare alloy rim is included. A period correct sunroof was fitted.
The body is straight and solid with original paint and still in very good condition.
Interior is in excellent original condition with un-cracked dash. Seats have been protected by seat covers from new and are in excellent condition. Door cards are as new.
Engine bay is completely original and in excellent condition. Underside including sills & front bumper/ spoiler are in very good condition.
The XR6 is in excellent driving condition and can be reliably driven daily and to distant car shows when needed.
Overall this XR6 survivor is excellent original condition with low km and until recently was still with its first owner. It spent its life in the relatively dry inland Gauteng Province of SA. Very few have survived in this condition.
Please note that there is a rust spot on the drivers side where the radio aerial is mounted and another at the base of the passenger side A pillar . In addition there is also some minor rust on the matt black lower rear overhang behind the rear wheels.
