EXTERIOR BODY
The Golf is finished in the factory colour 'Jade Green' and the condition of the paintwork is great all around the car. There are no rust issues and the overall body is superb. Being an early example, this model features the smaller bumpers with red stripe detailing and the black VW badge set into the twin headlight grille.
WHEELS & TYRES
The BBS RZ alloy wheels finish off the retro look of the early 80's Volkswagen and all have good tyres. These wheels would have been an additional option when the vehicle was purchased new in 1989 and complete the 80's 'hot-hatch' appearance.
INTERIOR BODY
The Interior factory cloth seats have no rips or tears. There is a mechanically operated sunroof and the car is in completely original and standard condition inside, as it would have been 31 years ago.
MECHANICS
The 8v GTI engine is responsive whilst being reliable and has stood the test of time, still running as well today as it would have in the 80's. The vehicle has undergone our full in-house mechanical and safety inspection and will be sold with a 12 month MOT and having had a full service.
SERVICE & MAINTENANCE HISTORY
The Golf GTI has been owned by a father and son since 2006 and they have had the vehicle regularly maintained and serviced throughout their ownership. There is a large folder of service history, which includes the original stamped service record, documented service and repair invoices and a range of MOT certificates dating back to the 1990's.
DRIVE & COMFORT
This Golf is a beautiful example of the GTI Mk2 and feels superb to drive. The handling is great and the suspension feels comfortable on the road with all components working brilliantly. Economical and responsive, this is a great example of 80's German engineering and would be a pleasure for any enthusiast to own!
