It is with a heavy heart that I put my Triumph Spitfire Mk3 up for sale. I've owned her for a couple years now and will be very sad to see her go.
She has a very large file of reciepts, invoices, photos and more mostly dating back to her restoration in 2008. She then passed through a couple owners before coming into my owership. Whilst she is registered as a 1971 the Mk3 ceased production in 1970, her chassis number is only 343 lower than the final mk3 made! Below is a list of things that come with her.
Things changed in my ownership:
Oil filter change
Magnetic Oil plug
Oil change with Castrol Classic (less than 2 months ago)
Front shocks and springs replaced
Goodridge Classic braided hoses
Pertronix Electronic Ignition
NKG Spark plugs replaced
Distributor cap replaced
Red rotor arm
Lucas Sport Coil
Canley Classic Trunionless Vertical Links
Mk3 seat frames refurbished, reupholstered with new foam and covers
R9 SAE J30 hoses fitted
Fuel pump replaced
Heat Shield fitted
Carburettor service kit
Front and rear suspension bushes and bolts
Track rod ends replaced
Ball joint for front wishbone fitted
Antiroll bar overhaul kit
and more...
Previous owner had the car wax oiled and sills/ floors replaced so she is solid underneath. It comes with a Ashley Fastback hardtop, these are very rare and I think looks stunning when fitted to the Mk3. Genuine Minilites fitted. Moto Lita steering wheel fitted. Alfin rear drums fitted.
Things I think need changing/ imporving on:
Gear lever is quite "floppy", I've got a bush kit but not fitted yet
The bonnet and bootlid are fiberglass, this adds "lightness" however is less original, I have a steel bootlid which can be included
The dashboard is a little tired, mainly faded black vinyl and the dials need a clean
The front bumper has a small dent in it, not through the chrome
