We are very pleased to offer a stunning 1987 Austin Mini Mayfir finished in gleaming black. This Mini has been recommissioned after a long sleep and benefits from having had a full body refurb including a bare metal respray in its original Jet black. This is a factory black Mini so quite a rare find and its also in its original specification, it has covered only 46k in 33 years with only six previous owners and is presented in ready to use and enjoy condition.
On the road this Mini is a joy. The original 998 engine is very smooth and the gearbox is precise and slick, being completely original it offers that pure eighties Mini driving experience, brisk performance will make you smile. It also benefits from having disc brakes and five new tyres so the handling is precise and sharp. It is happy to keep up with modern traffic and excels on the twisty stuff, making a great daily driver proposition.
The interior is very well presented and again oozes the eighties, the brown dash and switchgear are all fully operational and it has the Mayfair three clock binnacle with a rev counter, the original radio is also still fitted and in working order. The cream seats are in good condition, it also has rear seat belts. We have just treated it a new carpet set.
This Mini has a very solid shell and appears to have all of its original panels, as mentioned it benefits from having had a bare metal respray and at the same time, new Nimbus Grey bumpers with matching mirrors and grille and new screen rubbers. It also has a new rear subframe and many new suspension and brake parts, We have fully serviced and checked it and it also has a long MOT. This Mayfair gets lots of attention and it could easily sit on any display stand but more importantly make you grin when its out on the open road.
