Based on the 2013 model year Carrera S, Porsche’s Club Coupe is a highly optioned and unique model to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the first Porsche Club.
The unique model came with a unique specification -including a set of 20-inch Sport Techno wheels, the Carrera S Powerkit (which included sports exhaust and Sport Chrono packages) bringing total power up to 424bhp, a seven-speed PDK gearbox, carbon-ceramic brakes and dynamic sports suspension (PASM). All 13 examples are fitted with the Sport design package, adding the classic duck-tail spoiler design and with the body painted in a shade from the Porsche ‘Individual’ range, called Brewster Green.
The first club specifically for Porsche owners was originally known as the Westfälischer Porsche Club Hohensyburg and was set up in May 1952, just four years after the first 356 rolled off the production line, by a group of seven enthusiasts. There are now more than 640 officially recognised Porsche clubs worldwide, with more than 181, 000 members in total.
Porsche kept one of the 13 in its collection, so to make the ordering process for the remaining 12 a little fairer, the company ran a lottery system, which was opened on June 16, 2012. Each of the 12 lucky recipients of the Club Coupe had their name engraved on the switch panel trim strip.
We are told by our Porsche GB sources that only 2 RHD cars were built, one of which was supplied new to Hong Kong and this is the sole example delivered to the UK. Having covered just 7, 700 miles from new, and with a full service history, we are very grateful to our private vendor for giving Silverstone Auctions this amazingly rare opportunity.
