Description
By James Young. Chassis Number 3 CM 167. Finished in black and grey coachwork with black mohair hood and grey leather interior trim. It was the present owners dream to create the ultimate long distance pre-war touring motorcar so a Phantom III sports saloon was located and delivered to David Wall of Wroxham where upon the coachwork was reconfigured into a two door drop head coupe using an original 1930's hood frame and retaining 80 per cent of the original coachwork. The car has twin mounted spare wheels and with the long distance touring in mind a cavernous boot was created with a flap down boot lid so a very large trunk can be fitted allowing one to travel with as much luggage as one may desire. Total interior and coachwork restoration. The engine was stripped and re built by M. J Pickles Ltd. In the extensive history file there is a photographic record of the coachwork restoration and the engine rebuild with invoices on file exceeding the sum of £120, 000. Since restoration the car has covered about two hundred miles and is ready for its next owner to go travelling in the ultimate pre-war style.
