Lot 261
c. 1963 Honda CZ100
Registration no. not registered
Frame no. unable to locate
Engine no. C100E-63181
With the launch of the CZ100 in 1960, Honda created the class of machine known as Monkey Bikes, so called because of their diminutive stature. The power unit was the C100 step-thrus reliable overhead-valve four-stroke single that incorporated a three-speed gearbox with automatic clutch. An ultra-short wheelbase, small wheels, and a vestigial fuel tank were all features of a machine which, in the case of the folding handlebar version, could fit into the boot of a car. Immensely popular as paddock transport the world over, they are currently much in vogue.
No previous history is known concerning this CZ100, which will require recommissioning before returning to the road. Sold strictly as viewed, the machine comes with a dating certificate from John Wyatt of Rising Sun Restorations.
£10, 000 - 14, 000
All lots are sold ‘as is/ where is’ and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness, mileage, engine capacity and originality prior to bidding. Visit the Bonhams Motorcycles website for all pertinent auction information.
