Welcome to my listing for my 1943 D-day style Ford GPW (Willys) Jeep.
This Jeep is a genuine war veteran having been made in 1943.
She is in good useable condition and can be enjoyed as is AS LONG AS YOU KEEP HER IN A GARAGE. She is not a project but can be used while you concentrate on detail items. In concours condition, these command £30, 000 plus.
The engine starts up first time and runs well on normal petrol that is dosed with Lead Replacement Additive, available from Halfords.
The car pulls well and the 2. 2 litre Go Devil engine ticks over like a watch. There is no blue smoke and she has recently had ALL lube oils changed in the engine and all gear housings. I have also replaced both front leaf springs.
I have also replaced the windscreen surround but the original is still available should you wish to repair it.
All the wartime kit is there including a greasing chart and grease gun under the bonnet in their proper stowages, a (dummy) fire extinguisher, Jerry cans and the axe/ shovel arrangement on the near side. There is also a centre console made up of old ammo boxes and a functioning gun mount suitable for a 0. 303 Browning.
All gears and modes work as they should and all instruments work.
This is very much a reluctant sale but I now need the space. I would like to know that any potential purchaser has suitable garaging for this car as she is too historic to be left outside. I will also include a steering lock for times when you leave the car unattended in town or at shows etc.
It has been fun running this car; she turns heads and commands attention wherever she goes.
She will come with a summer tilt, a full foul weather cover complete with doors and as a bonus, a genuine, Korean War era wireless set that can sit in the back.
