MGB GT V8 Costello MK1

Very rare 1971 Costello MGBGT V8. This car is one of the earliest converted by Ken Costello and one of the only approx 60 surviving GTs from the 220 built. The Ken Costello story is well documented; in short, he converted MGBGTs to V8 before the OEM and with much greater success. Improving performance in all respects. Even Autocar placed the Costello alongside the Sunbeam Tiger by comparison. See the extracts from Autocar in the photographs section. The Yearbook pictured including the test will stay with the car.
I purchased the car just under a year ago and have spent many hours and a tidy sum bringing the car up to its current immaculate standard. The car was with its previous owner for over thirty years, during which time he lavished much time and money maintaining the car.
I have a genuine reason for sale.
This car is totally immaculate and one of the absolute best Costellos in existence. The list below is not exhaustive:
Full engine rebuild, balanced - with new high performance heads, new high compression pistons, water pump, high lift cams etc etc. Plus a new V8 back axle. All approx 10K miles ago.
Reconditioned steering rack
New alternator
Bare metal paint and restoration in original red with full length sunroof.
Electronic ignition plus new petrol pump.
Bilsteins plus full handling kit.
Original radiator, re-cored and refurbished.
New Alloy Header tank, Bespoke by Custom Made Rads Ltd (originals were prone to corrosion. Old one included with the car for posterity!)
Recent front Poly suspension bushes.
New callipers, discs, pads and shoes
New (but patinated) interior and leather piped seats including Moto Lita (plus original wheel included)
5 new knock on Minilites with matching 185/ 70 Bridgestones

Excellent history folder with comprehensive personal notebooks and receipts along with tax discs back to 1975. All backed up with original receipts.
