For sale is my 1996 Saab 9000 Aero project – Midnight Blue with Dove Grey Aero interior. Bought in late 2009 as a rolling rebuild, replaced various suspension and brake parts to get it through an MoT, then used it as my work vehicle until April 2012 when I bought my 93 to replace it. Parked up with the full intention of restoring it back to good cosmetic condition, but alas work, life, and other projects took priority. I’ll be very sorry to see this old lady go, but hopefully someone can return her to proper splendour.
Good points.
Car is complete, and runs & moves with a fresh battery.
Engine pulled well prior to taking off road, no smoke, knocks or bangs.
Closed Aero wheels were powder coated shortly before it was parked up.
Interior is in very good condition, although rear seats show the usual depressions from being folded.
Abbott Racing 3” stainless system fitted.
Full set of replacement doors, tailgate & bonnet included in correct colour & good condition.
Abbott Racing green springs & Koni dampers fitted.
Poly bushes on the front wishbone rear butterfly bushes, engine & gearbox mounts.
Forge recirculating dump valve.
TIM 2 bar boost gauge.
Home made heated washer jets & fluid system - a bit Heath Robinson but it was invaluable on Scottish roads in the winter.
Bad points.
Corrosion at top of inner rear arch & behind rear bumper. Will need a patch in each location.
Usual 9000 surface corrosion lower part of the front of each rear wheel arch.
Driver side front wing holed, although Anniversary wing in correct colour included.
Driver side seat electrics have stopped working, though suspect this is the relay.
Will need NSF wheel bearing.
Will need a full set of brakes – discs and pads.
Tyres are shot from standing, although hold air and allow the car to be moved.
Headlights will need resilvered for MoT.
Will need a hazard warning switch as the original is broken.

Doors, tailgate & bonnet in good condition in correct colour – tailgate has rust at the bottom, bonnet has an untidy repair at the front edge.
Driver side front wing.
Aftermarket front strut brace.
Various polybushes for the suspension.
Glovebox from a CSE.
Various electrical bits including spare relays and door lights.
Spare dash top - one in the car is fine, but always good to have a spare...
Car is located in Glenrothes, Fife in the east of Scotland, and will obviously need trailered away. It does start and drive, so can be manoeuvred onto a beaver tail.
