Unlike the previous two series which featured more than one high-performance model, the Clio RS was the only sporty version of the range.
Introduced in 2006, it was characterized externally by a dedicated body kit which included oversized fenders, air intakes behind the front fenders and rear air extractor.
The engine, directly derived from that of the previous RS (and therefore also related to the Williams 2-liter), was capable of delivering up to 200 hp of maximum power.
This version reached a top speed of 215 km / h, while achieving slightly lower performance than the latest Clio II RS (which also had 15 HP less), due to the significant weight increase (about 200 kg), following the oversizing of the car.
In any case, the RS constituted the flagship model of the range and after 2006 it was offered in several variants.
