JAGUAR XK 120 ROADSTER 1953, preserved and in very good condition, with only 2 owners from new.
The first owner owned it for 65 years and the second for the last five years and has traveled very few kilometers as he has many cars. That is, essentially the car is first hand!
Of all the Jaguar XK 120 series (1948-1954), the XK 120 “Roadster” is considered the most beautiful due to the wonderful windshield surrounded by the thin chrome as its thin front bumper. In addition the type XK 120 had the advantage of lower weight, which the next versions of the Jaguar XK (1955-1960) did not have.
The car is “matching numbers” having its own engine of 3, 442 cc worn by all XKs. The immortal six-cylinder XK engine that glorified Jaguar and has been worn by all its cars since 1948.
The Jaguar XK 120 gone with the wind at a top speed of 120mph, it was the fastest production car in the world at that time, and its top speed gave the model the “120” as part of its name.
The XK120 was the first production car to average over 100mph for 24 hours, with Leslie Johnson sharing the driving with a young Stirling Moss. The very significant Italian racing driver Clemente Biondetti raced the Jaguar XK 120 in Mille Milia and Targa Florio in the early 50’s having always been among the first in the general classification.
Of course the car has the doors, the bonnet and the trunk cover in aluminium, like all XK 120 after 1950.
The two-tone color is very suitable for the car, but if the candidate very lucky buyer wants it can very easily be painted all white or black.
The rear wheels can be replaced with wire ones, but without the aerodynamic covers if the buyer wants it.
It was always meticulously maintained and recently was changed the seats leather with a new one.
The car has never been completely restored as due to its very good maintenance it was not needed. This is a great advantage, to which serious car collectors attach great importance.
It is almost impossible to find a Jaguar XK 120 Roadster with the first owner to own it for 65 years!
