This stunning 1970 Mini 1275 GT has been completely rebuilt from the bottom up. In every area it is clear to see that the nut and bolt restoration was carried out to the highest of standards. The previous owner who was a Mini enthusiast made sure the car was kept original in every area. Finished in a lovely Antelope beige colour scheme with the chrome and black stripes, it was a cool, popular choice in its day, and remains a sought after combo.
The car received extensive work including replacement metalwork and a full respray. It has period fittings such as a new wing mounted aerial, black vinyl GT stripes, chrome door mirrors, and GB graphic on the boot lid. Inside, the original seats and door cards were retrimmed in the correct basket weave material, with further additions such as new carpets, a factory leather bound three spoke steering wheel, original GT binnacle and toggle switches. Mechanically, the engine was completely reworked, restored and tuned by Peter Baldwin. The car also received a new exhaust, radiator and wiring loom. The suspension was also refurbished with a new rear subframe and refurbished front, along with new dampers, bushes and fittings. New front disc brakes and rear drums were also fitted all-round. The restoration was completed to such a high standard that the car was featured in Mini Magazine.
Overall, this 1275 GT is in immaculate condition and we have been informed by the restorer that the mileage of 62, 000 miles is genuine. It drives superbly well and will provide much enjoyment to a new owner.
