EXTERIOR
Beautifully presented in metallic Palladium Silver, the CL’s majestic profile looks quite simply stunning against our studio backdrop. The paintwork presents with a lustrous sheen throughout following a thorough detail and machine polish on arrival with us, the bodywork retaining only a couple of discreet blemishes on very close inspection. With desirable features such as AMG body styling and 20-inch AMG alloy wheels, this 2010 S-Class coupe really looks the part, its condition much more in line with a car having driven half the mileage.
INTERIOR
The well-appointed cabin is equally pristine, our studio photographs really don’t do it justice. Leather trim adorns almost every panel, with lashings of glossy Ash wood lifting the interior space even further. The heated and ventilated front seats are fully adjustable via the handy door controls, and both present in excellent condition with only the lightest of wear to the driver’s bolster. Other commonly worn areas such as the steering wheel and centre console retain a factory-fresh appearance, and in the footwells you’ll find the original tailored AMG carpet mats. The rear seats are also pristine and the boot area is very tidy.
Just some of the CL’s other amazing specification includes a rear-view camera with parking sensors front and rear, DAB digital radio, the Front Seat Entertainment Package including a Harman Kardon surround-sound system and DVD changer, COMAND, satellite navigation, electronic lumbar adjustment, Ambient interior lighting, Intelligent Headlight Control (IHC), and a self-closing bootlid – by no means an exhaustive list as there’s almost too much to mention.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Being the BlueEfficieny model this CL500 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4. 7-litre V8, this engine offering lower emissions, better fuel economy and more power than its larger, naturally aspirated predecessor. The car has been religiously serviced every year from new with a total of 11 recorded service entries; the first 9 were carried out by Mercedes-Benz main dealers and the last 2 by marque specialists. The CL has just returned from Tim Purslow Mercedes Specialists in Hook where it received an A service, transmission service, full check over, and MOT (valid until November 2022).
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
Filling the CL’s arches are the upgraded 20-inch twin-spoke AMG alloy wheels, all in good condition with only a few small age-related marks to report, although a perfectionist may choose to refurb. The tyres and brakes were checked alongside the car’s recent service and all remain in fine operational condition.
HISTORY FILE
This lovely high spec CL500 was first registered in November 2010. It has now driven just 71k miles in the hands of only 4 registered keepers. Quite amazingly the car has been serviced every year without fail, and up until 2020 every service had been carried out by Mercedes. The accompanying History File is complete with a raft of invoices, MOT certificates, various ownership documents, and a spare key. A breakdown of the car’s extensive service history is below.
