Lovely solid Wolseley Six Auto. Only a handful of these luxury saloons left now.
Similar to the earlier 18/ 85 but with the six cylinder 2200cc engine fitted to Australian landcrabs.
Being a Wolseley it's more luxurious and has a more attractive rear end than the Austin or Morris versions with navy velour interior similar to the rival Citroen DS cars at the time.
Unbelievably solid body including wheel arches and I'm told the car was off the road in a garage for years which seems to have preserved it.
Interior is a mix of velour and walnut. All controls and heater work well.
Needs period radio to finish.
Previous owner stated both engine and transmission were rebuilt in his ownership - I can't confirm this, nevertheless it pulls amazingly well and keeps up with modern traffic effortlessly. It floats along on Hydrolastic suspension and the ride height is perfect.
In recent times it's had NOS triplex windscreen, new brake servo, new starter solenoid, recent tyres.
So thats all the good stuff. The main issue is that the car has had a poor respray in dark blue which looks great from a few feet away but is very heavy up close.
This has suited me as I like to use my classics without worrying about leaving them in a car park or city centre but if you are a perfectionist you'll want to get it resprayed.
So to sum up its a very solid example of this rare classic but perfect as a starter classic or as an everyday driver.
