Here for sale is my 2003 on a 53 registration BMW E46 330d Automatic with 139, 000 miles Its completely standard as it left the factory it has the upgraded Harmon Kardon sound system which is a must have on any BMW along with xenon headlights, black leather interior , automatic headlights and the deeper alloy wheels I think they are called MV2 alloy wheels, electric seats and electric windows all work, it also has a removable tow bar which I have used once so I know the electrics work.
I have owned it for 2 years ish and In that time I have driven around 18000 miles including a trip to Paris and the french Italian border town of Chamonix along with a few trips to north and west wales it has never missed a beat , this engine is the 3. 0 330d facelift model (201hp) and is renowned for reliability they are regularly seen going to 200k miles and further.
I get around 50 MPG average with a mixture of town and motorway driving which is around 500 miles per tank of fuel (£85ish) I managed to get 700+ miles out of one tank of fuel when I drove across Europe as the conditions were perfect for this car (80 mph and all motorway driving at around 2000/ 3000 rpm
In the time I have owned it I have serviced it at home 9000 miles ago the service intervals are 18k miles or two years so it doesn’t require a service for a while, I have also replaced all of the tyres at least once , a full set of Bridgestone turanza was bought around a year ago and since then I have had three punctures , unlucky I know, so they are all varying in age but the oldest tyre is around 14 months old and has plenty of tread.
This car has had the swirl flaps removed, they get brittle as the car ages and if they break up they often damage the turbo which can then damage the engine luckily this is something that was carried out before my ownership.
The automatic gearbox is very good I’m surprised at how it changes gear smoothly and is efficient for an 18 year old car.
There are a few car park dings and around the car as you would expect for the age and the normal e46 bubbles on the front wing but it is generally clean , it’s a non smoker car and doesn’t have any lingering smells or leaks/ condensation buildup so overall a clean example, there is a file of paperwork that comes with the car to show service history.
